Year 1 Enjoy Visit from Renowned Poet

11 November 2015

Children in Key Stage One were lucky enough to receive a visit this week from poet/author, Nick Toczek. The class listened to and joined in with a number of different poems and were amazed by his magic tricks! They especially liked his shy puppet and his poem about the spider!

His show was called- The Million Miles an Hour Show and his visit was linked to Book Week. The class has been learning about different rhyming words this week and will be reading some of his other poems.

Most of the children who attended were excited about remembering some of the rhyming words they learned previously. One of the students remarked that he thought Nick Toczek was really funny and they wanted to be a poet as well!

I think sales of his book might go up now in Shanghai.
