Key Stage 2 students performing the traditional Dragon Dance for students, staff and parents today.
The second week of Chinese New Year celebrations started out brilliantly with a magnificent Dragon Dance presented to us by talented Key Stage 2 students outside the primary school. As I took my daily route around the school, I heard in the distance pieces of traditional Chinese music coupled with rhythmic drumming. As I stopped to find out where it was coming from, I could barely see through the crowds! It was in fact two yellow and red dragons dancing aggressively, waved by a group of students dressed in traditional Chinese outfits. I joined in the crowd and cheered them on for entertaining us with such a great piece of art. Luckily, I enjoyed the performance again during lunchtime when they came to the secondary school.
