Our stduents who were awarded Principal's Commendations throughout February
It’s time to share February’s Principal’s Commendations. Congratulations to everyone who received a Principal’s Commendation this month and keep up the good work if you want to see yourself here!
Chelsea Ngan 10U, Vivian Graf 10B, Juyeon Ryu 10U, Laura Kelly 10B, Helena Smith 12P
These five students were nominated by their Biology teacher for their sustained effort and commitment in Biology, from writing outstanding reports, to their positive attitude and engagement.
Minjun Kwak and Chloe Ngan, Year 8
Minjun and Chloe were nominated for producing outstanding work in Mathematics, specifically in a homework task that involved them having to think independently and use their mathematical skills to conduct an extended exploration to solve a problem.
Johnny Yeng , Year 11
Johnny received a nomination due as captain of the swim team. Since August when he became captain, he has shown fantastic maturity, commitment and leadership skills. During every training session and competition his first concern is always the rest of the team and especially the younger swimmers. He has acted as a great role model to all of the team.
Chloe Ngan 8U, Verity Lord 8P, Efje Boulnois 8U, Chiara dell’Oro 8U
These students were nominated for their outstanding work on the Year 8 Energy Assessment, ‘Renewable Energy for BISS Puxi.’ Their research and presentation went beyond what was required and illustrated their enthusiasm for Geography.
Hyun Jin Kim, 12P
Hyun Jin was nominated for achieving the Gold Award in the Biology Olympiad. He has been recognised as being in the top 7% of the world against students who are in the year above him: a truly impressive performance.
Sung Joon Kim 12S, Hannan Azmir, 13P, Jeffrey Formen 13I, Margot Jacobs 12S , Madita Eh 13P and Richard Asfour 13P
These students achieved either a Silver or Bronze Award or were commended in the Biology Olympiad. An excellent achievement.
Madita Eh and Richard Asfour 13P
Madita and Richard were nominated for excellent IB Diploma, Extended Essays. Their essays embodied how Science should be done in an Extended Essay. It was analytical, thorough, detailed and concise.
Adam Janus, 7P
Adam was nominated for the help he has given to students at our school whose first language is not English. Adam has been instrumental in ensuring that other students get involved in all parts of school life, he has shown maturity and patience and is always polite.
Efje Boulnois, 8U
Efje’s nomination was for her video on atmospheric pollution. Efje has shown her enthusiasm for Geography in the production of this video and in doing so she has produced an engaging and useful learning resource.
Natalie Lok 8B and Emily Prince 8I
Natalie and Emily were nominated for getting straights As in their recent trackers.
