Performing Arts Within The Community - All Welcome!

21 April 2015

On Wednesday 22 April from 9:45am - 10:30am, we have the privilege of welcoming the Hauxin Rehabilitation Centre to BISS Puxi for a musical event. For a number of years, we have been supporting this fantastic organisation.

  • Our Vice Principal was joined by Chinese Government officials at the ceremony to mark children's day in Shanghai

Our former Vice-Principal Stuart White and Mr Shrewsbury, at the Huaxin Rehabilitation Centre last year presenting a donation from BISS Puxi.

Shanghai Huaxin Rehabilitation and Education Centre for Disabled Children, was registered in July, 2004. Located in the Qingpu District of Shanghai, it has a comprehensive rehabilitation area of over 5,000 square meters with 85 beds. Huaxin provides rehabilitation services for more than 100 children every year who have special needs both physically and in their learning.  It also provides, free to a 1,000 children annually, training in skills to enable them to live at home with their families, and on-going support and guidance out in the community to ensure the skills learnt are being implemented in the home.

4S will be performing a song, dedicated to the Huaxin students and the students of Huaxin will be performing a nursery rhyme. There will then be time for both to interact and play a few musical instruments together.

Please feel free to come along and join in with this collaboration of performing arts within the community on Wednesday 22 April, from 9:45am in Stage One.

We hope to continue to build on this partnership in the coming years.  If you are interested in supporting or volunteering at the Huaxin Rehabilitation Centre, please come along on Wednesday and find out more.
