Sports Report: Under 13 and Under 15 Netball

12 May 2015

Last weekend our Under 13 and Under 15 BISS Lions netball teams were playing at Dulwich College Shanghai in a very competitive tournament. Hear from Under 15 Captain Laura Kelly and Under 13 Coach Angela Sharrock.

Under 15 Netball

On Saturday the U15 netball team travelled to Dulwich Shanghai where we competed in four games. It was the first time many of us had played together as a team and we also welcomed some new faces to the netball squad this season.

Throughout the day the way we played more and more as a team, therefore we improved significantly. We are a super fit team and in our last game vs Wellington we played very well, in particular getting the ball from defence, down the court efficiently, leading to a comfortable victory for the BISS Lions! Overall 2 wins, one draw and a loss.

We are looking forward to the finals weekend but know we have some work to do and strategies to plan before we get there.

- Laura Kelly, U15 Captain

Under 13 Netball

The U13 Netball team played five games last weekend.  It was a successful tournament with one win, two draws and two loses.  The two draws were very tight games and with a little more practice before the finals, the students will be in a good position to turn these into winning games.

The U13 team is very fortunate with many students being versatile with their positions on court.  Students are looking forward to the end of season tournament on the 23 May where they will be able to show off their new set plays in the defensive and offensive ends.
