To organise the Christmas Fair, a group of Y12 students - CAS leaders - have been organizing the Christmas Fair games and raffles since the beginning of the school year. We started organising the fairs inner workings at the very start of the year with one group sectioning off to focus on the games and the other focusing on emailing local businesses to get prizes for the raffle basket. Our main aim is to raise a total sum of ¥100,000 for the charity ISF (Indochina Starfish Foundation) in Cambodia. This is a charity that is very close to BISS Puxi’s heart and for this, amongst many other reasons is why the CAS leaders and Miss Coong have worked tirelessly in order to raise the highest amount of money any Christmas fair has ever generated. The Y12 students will travel to Cambodia at the end of the school year to work with the organisation and see where the donations are going. This is a case study from the ISF Progress report.
The games will are a variety of Christmas-themed activities including everything from ‘Spoon and Bauble Race’ to ‘Can throwing’ to ‘Pin the nose on the reindeer’ to our famous ‘Sponge the Teacher/Student’. Jump 360 are also bringing two giant zorbs on the day! It’ll certainly be lots of fun; so don’t forget to buy wristbands to play games (if you are 18 and under - there is no admission fee for adults).
More fun things to look forward to include Santa’s Grotto, a large bouncy castle, a range of vendors, secondhand book, toy and uniform sale as well as a bake sale to treat yourself! If you would like to help out: There is still time to donate to secondhand sales and the bake sale, please don’t hesitate to fill out the forms provided by school or contact Ms. Coong.
