BISS Puxi Presents – Summer School 2016

03 March 2016

Do you have plans for the summer yet? If you are staying in Shanghai, or have friends who are, why not take a look at our Summer School? It's a great way to keep your children entertained AND learning!

  • Summer School

Registration is now open for this year’s Summer School, which runs from 5 July to 22 July and is open to students from BISS Puxi, as well as those outside the school community.

There will be three programmes running simultaneously: one for children learning English as a second language; one for those learning Mandarin as a second language; and a new course for this year is the native Mandarin course. All of these courses will consist of language lessons in the morning, which will be age and level appropriate, and a range of activities in the afternoon.

Afternoon activity sessions are designed to provide an opportunity for children to socialise, develop confidence, and to practise their language skills through activities such as sports, arts and crafts, and mad science.

A new and very exciting addition to our programme is the option for children to take part in an intensive art course during the afternoon. These sessions will be planned and taught by specialist art teachers to help the children become more creative - a vital skill in future life.

Andrew Foster is Director of the Summer School:

“I am very excited to be directing this year’s summer camp. We have a fantastic team of experienced and highly qualified teachers, mainly from BISS Puxi, who will be teaching the various language courses and activities, and ensuring your child learns as much English or Mandarin as possible, while having fun doing so, not only in morning classes but in the afternoon activities too.

The new Native Mandarin programme, and intensive art course, is going to add something a little special to our already very successful Summer School.

I’m delighted that we will continue to offer the Cambridge Starters, Movers and Flyers exams this year, as well as preparing more senior students with academic English, or for their IELTS exams. It is sure to be a fun and rewarding experience for the students, and I look forward to seeing your children there!”
