23 January 2017

Over the past 2 weeks the children in Year 1 have been very busy writing their own superhero comic strips!

They have created their own characters and have written short stories about their adventures! They understood that comic strips can have different layouts and different features, including captions, pictures and speech bubbles.

The children have also been busy designing and making their own superhero capes! They have followed a number of different steps and used many different skills to transform an old white t-shirt! First they carefully changed the colour of the t-shirt using different dyes. They then developed their ideas by designing and added an emblem. They experimented with many types of media, including, pastels, felt tip pens, fabric pens and chalk. Finally they practised their printing skills by adding different shapes using special paint, rollers and sponges.

Their finished Superhero capes look fantastic!
