Each MIT Challenge embodies the teaching and learning culture of MIT, is rooted in the research of the Institute's researchers and graduate students, and makes that research relevant and accessible to Nord Anglia students. Students will embark on their own projects inspired by MIT and guided by their teachers.
The MIT challenges are launching on Tuesday 8 October with a dress up day for our primary students. Each year group has been given one of the four elements to use as inspiration for the MIT challenges and the dress up day:
- EYFS – Water (blue)
- Y1 & 2 – Fire (red)
- Y3 & 4 – Wind (white)
- Y5 & 6 – Earth (green)
These themes will run as a thread throughout the STEAM work children will be completing this term which is based on the following projects created by MIT:
Extreme Exposure The objective of 'Extreme Exposure' is for students to consider an environment they would like to explore— perhaps one they've never dared to look into before—then learn about the tools needed to do that. Some year groups may incorporate a design element here.
