FOBISIA Advanced Orchestral and Choral Festival

On Thursday 19 September, our Advanced FOBISIA Musicians set off for Ho Chi Minh City for the Advanced Orchestral and Choral Festival which was hosted at one our sister-schools BIS-HCM.

BISS Puxi musicians spent two and half days rehearsing with students from across 10 international schools under the direction of Maestros Adrian Tan and Gareth Groves. The programme (which included pieces by Mozart, Rutter and Verdi) stretched all students involved. Despite the difficult programme we are pleased to share that many of our students were promoted to senior positions in their respective ensembles.

In addition to the intense rehearsals, students had opportunities to meet with other musicians, as well as enjoy time at the hotel, pool and mall. Both Mr. Morris and Miss. Dixon could not have asked for a better group of students to represent the school, and despite the VERY early departure on Monday morning, all students made it back to Shanghai in good spirits!

Our next scheduled festival opportunity is the Nord Anglia Orchestral Festival which will be in Guangzhou March 2020. Students who are interested in participating should complete the online registration form.
