EARLY YEARS CUBS TRANSITIONS COFFEE MORNING - THURSDAY 19 MAY 8:45- 9:30 STAGE ONE
- Now that the weather is warmer, please could you change an/or replenish your child’s spare clothes at school (shorts, t-shirts, underwear etc)and also send in a sunhat as we will making the most of the good weather and utilising our oudoor area as much as possible. Please also try to apply suncream to your child’s exposed areas prior to coming to school. It can also be wet so make sure you have a light weight rain coat ready in your child’s bag.
- The children will be making a fruit sald next week. Could you please send in a piece of fruit for your child to add to our collaborative fruit salad.
- Nursery Foxes will be going on their trip to the flower shop on Monday 16th May leaving at 9.15. We are looking forward to spending our 5RMB on our favourite flower to plant in our beautiful, blossoming garden.
- We are always looking for ways to improve the safety of the children, particularly at home time. At present we are trialling a new system, which may be slower but is safer. Thank you for your understanding and support.
The children have been voicing their own ideas for what we do around the classrooms and it is wonderful to see the panthers taking such great care of their jungle and the Meerkats going on adventures in their huge spitfire airplane! The other classes will help extend the role play areas in their classrooms, coming up with their own ideas as to what they would like to play with.
This week we will be talking about length and measurement. How long is a caterpillar? Are they all the same size? Using different sized measuring caterpillars and unifix we will measure how long each ‘caterpillar’ is and count how many cubes. Children can have a go at writing these numbers on white boards too!
UNDERSTANDING THE WORLD
The plants we brought back from the flower shop have now been planted in our garden. The children are taking extremely good care of them and are loving watering them. We will continue to care for these plants and develop our garden space, creating a sensory experience that we can explore using all our senses!
The children are engrossed with insects, and want to know how to care for them and findout more about them. The children will use non fiction books to support this exploration. We will draw insects, talk about their different parts and have a go at labelling or writing captions about them.
De peuters puzzelen deze week hun eigen lichaam bijeen. Kan jij je eigen ogen, handen, mond op foto herkennen? We oefenen verschillende gelaatsuitdrukkingen in de spiegel en maken een emotieboekje.
