The show will go on! Come rain, hail or shine, this Saturday’s Garden Party will take place as scheduled from 1pm-4pm. We are well prepared with a wet weather plan so all the fun can continue and you can expect to have a great time regardless of the weather. We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday. Get those hats and shields ready and come and join the party!

  • Please label all school uniform, snack boxes and water bottle to avoid items getting lost in school. Every child needs to have a water bottle to bring in each day. No glass containers please.
  • In the summer term, please ensure children wear sun hats on hot days to protect them when playing outside.
  • Year 3 will be basing our work around “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory “by Roald Dahl, It would be fantastic if you could support the children out of school by helping them to read the book and/or watch the film to get them all ready for learning in class!
  • Term 3 Second Hand Uniform Sale  3.00pm – 4.30pm on Monday 25 April in the Gallery.
  • Year 3 and 4 Sports Morning

Wednesday 27 April (9.00-12.00)        Primary School Playground and Field

All children will compete in each of the activities as they move around a range of stations throughout the morning; there are also plenty of rest areas planned in order that the children can drink and get some shade.  Some activities will be based around fun games and some will have a more athletic feel but all will be competitive with all the points going towards a final Year 3 and 4 sports day result.

  • On Wednesday, 4th May the children have been invited to watch the dress rehearsal of the KS2 production, Annie. Consequently, the children in 3P, 3X and 3U will not have Swimming. Instead they will have a PE session. Could you please ensure that your child has their PE kit on Wednesday 4th May so they can participate fully in the lesson.

This week we will be writing our own adventures inside Wonka’s chocolate factory. The children will be using their own new characters, factory rooms and story structures. Their final pieces of creative writing will be constructed into a class book of the missing chapters of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We look forward to sharing these with you are our chocolate showcase.

In Maths, the children will consolidate and extend their understanding of fractions and use fractions as numbers. They will cover unit fractions, 1/2, 1/3, and non-unit fractions with small denominators, 3/8, 7/12.

This will include recognising and showing fractions through diagrams and findings their equivalents. Finally they will learn to add and subtract fractions with the same denominator within one whole (5/7 + 1/7 = 6/7).

The children will be focusing on art. They will be covering the techniques of printing and dyeing to create their own geometric Aztec tea cloth. The children will be using techniques they have already mastered with creating negative stencils as well as learning new dip dyeing skills.
