MESSAGES
- International Week begins on Monday 21 March and the whole school parade is on Friday 25 March. If you are returning home for the holiday you may wish to think about a costume for your child as this might be easier to source whilst on vacation. Pupils will be asked to come in wearing the colours of their flag or any national dress associated with your country.
- Uniform: Now that it is colder in the mornings please remember that children should not be wearing leggings, boots or hoodies. They should be wearing school jumpers/cardigans/fleeces and NOT non-uniform versions. Information is available on the Primary Parent Handbook on the website.

LITERACY
In Literacy this week, the children will be building on their knowledge of non-fiction. They will be identifying the features of non-chronological reports on dinosaurs and then piecing together a non-fiction jigsaw, matching sub-titles with the correct paragraphs and thinking of the best layout.
MATHS
This week we will be consolidating and extending the children’s knowledge and understanding of place value
They will be comparing and ordering numbers up to 1000, reading and writing numbers up to 1000 in numerals and in words. The concept of rounding will also be covered, where the children will have to identify the nearest 10, 100 or 1000 i.e. 1334 is closest to 1330, 1300 and 1000.
THEMED LEARNING
This term our theme is ‘Footprints from the Past’. Over the course of the term the children will be investigating what the world looked like during the time of the dinosaurs, how we know about dinosaurs today and debating whether dinosaurs still exist.
This week, the children will be thinking about what they already know about dinosaurs and then challenged to ask questions, which will extend their knowledge. We will be creating timelines with the children to help them answer the questions: How long did dinosaurs live on Earth? When did dinosaurs live? The children will be working in teams to present the information they have found out and place it in the correct chronological order.
PSHCE
With many children joining our classes, we will be focusing, as a year group on the topic of New Beginnings, with particular emphasis on fostering new relationships. The children will be involved in making the school a safe and happy place for everyone.

DUTCH
Koken, bakken, braden...
