This week we shall continue with the case of Bruce, the Grumpy Guard Dog. Despite being well fed he is still very unhappy. Maybe it is exercise or sleep that is causing the problem? Activities will involve plotting routes around the park using a coordinate grid and working out his daily plan using timetables and fractional parts. The children will be encouraged to work with greater independence this week and develop ideas to apply mathematical understanding to a practical situation.
This week we will be designing and making our own bag for our exploration adventures! We will need to make a mood board to decide on the colour scheme and theme for our bags design. This will include illustrations, pictures cut from magazines and a list of words and ideas. They will then decide on how to fasten their bag and draw their ideas. The children will be using needles and thread and trying a variety of stitches.
This week the children will reflect on the past year and things they have learned.
The children will continue to create computer coding to create games. Over the rest of this term, classes will work with Lego Wedo on a rotation, to create adventure activities to accompany their stories. They will learn to use sensors and apply skills to create their own models.
