MESSAGES

  • Now the weather is getting warmer, please could you encourage your child to bring in a hat and also a water bottle so that they remain well hydrated during the day.
  • School Photographs - You can still order pictures and have them delivered before the end of term.  There are two deadlines - 26 May and 2 June.   If you have registered at www.pret-a-portrait.net , still have your viewing card, or kept a record of your Sitting ID you can still order pictures online right now.  Alternatively if none of these applies please contact Pret-a-Portrait directly on 0800 021 7626 or customerservice@pret-a-portrait.net or contact the school office.

LITERACY   

In Literacy this week we will be assessing the children’s knowledge with our SATs tests. This will cover reading, spelling, punctuation and grammar as outlined in the SATs booklet.

MATHS 

In Maths this week we will be assessing the children’s knowledge with our SATs tests. This will comprise of one calculation paper and two reasoning papers as outlined in the SATs booklet.

THEMED LEARNING

This week in Themed Learning we will be beginning a fantastic unit of work using the Lego Mindstorm programmable robots. The children will be set a ‘real life’ challenge that will involve utilising their programming skills, teamwork, problem solving ability and communication skills. Working in small groups the children will have to design, construct, test and demonstrate their robot.

Superhelden

Stel je voor... je moeder zit in de gevangenis, maar je weet zeker dat ze onschuldig is. De gevangenis  staat op een streng bewaakt eilandje in de Waddenzee. En aan je vader heb je niks, want die zit van de stress de hele dag te gamen. Wat doe je dan?

Dan bedenk je een onwaarschijnlijk reddingsplan!

Het laatste thema gaat over superhelden. Niet alleen die van de tv, met capes en superkrachten, maar juist de helden onder ons. Wat maakt jou een held? Ken je een held in de familie? Hoe kun je een held worden?

Deze week werken we verder aan onze dagboekfragmenten. Ook starten we met het ontwerpen van een goede ‘Superheld WervingsPoster’ en de ‘Superhelden Academie Folder’.

Bi(e)bbezoek en Estafette

Denk aan het meenemen van de bi(e)bboeken op maandag (Year 3, 5 en 6) en dinsdag (Year 4). Estafette doen we op maandag (Year 3, 5 en 6) en donderdag (Year 4).

Next week we will be using our previous knowledge and understanding from all our Units of study to translate some simple pop songs.

 Year 6  Spanish -  Ms Watson

The year 6 Spanish students will continue their Spanish culture study by looking at Spanish songs. Translating popular and folk songs into English and having an opportunity to sing them together. This will help the students with fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary and speed. For homework children are asked to find a Spanish song on Youtube and try to learn the chorus.

Homework: The students are expected to practise the sentence structure learned in class and make comments on the subjects and their teachers.
