  • Year 5 will be going on an exciting educational visit to the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum on Thursday 27 April. This visit is connected with our Themed Learning focus, Space, and will be a great opportunity for children to further develop their knowledge of Space and their factual understanding of our Universe.

Students who normally have school lunch will be provided with a packed lunch on the day. All other students will need to provide their own lunch. You may pack an additional drink and small healthy (nut-free) snack should you wish to.

Students will be required to wear uniform as normal on the day, but should wear comfortable walking shoes and a jacket.

This trip should not be affected by wet weather conditions. Should we need to postpone the trip due to the weather or high pollution, you will be contacted via email on the morning of the trip.

This week the children will begin looking at the genre of Sci-fi . A grammar focus will  be writing dialogue in narratives with different effects. Using a range of sci-fi short films and text, the children will begin writing narratives with an emphasis on characterisation and advancing the action. We will then strt to discuss ideas for our own Sci-fi story.
