    Sarah has a BA (Hons) in Education Studies and English from the University of Derby. She began her exciting teaching journey as a PGCE Student at the University of Nottingham. Having then spent two years teaching in an outstanding primary school in Birmingham, she continued her career in an international school in Qatar.

    Simon Gallington

    Simon Gallington graduated in 2004 with BA (Hons) at Royal Holloway University of London and completed his PGCE in 2010 at University of Roehampton, UK.  Before teaching Simon had a successful career behind the scenes on Channel 4’s Big Brother but he gave it all up for a life in education. He chose to specialise in the Early Years and Key Stage 1 and embraces learning through play, striving to develop self-confident independent children, thus encouraging them to expand their horizons and discover new perspectives. Simon joins the British International School of Shanghai community with 6 years of teaching experience in London, Beijing and most recently Tanglin Trust School in Singapore.

    Hannah Shad

    Hannah attended Edge Hill University where she completed a Bachelors degree with Honours in Primary Education with QTS and a specialism in English. Whilst at university, Hannah developed an interest in teaching children with English as an additional language and therefore set out to teach internationally. After graduating, Hannah moved to Madrid, Spain where she was part of the team who started up a brand new British school in Madrid and in this time, she co-ordinated Key Stage 1 and developed the literacy scheme in the school.

    Following this, Hannah moved on to an established British school in Madrid where she taught Year 1 to continue her professional development and learn from others in her team.

     

    Hannah has a holistic view of education and believes it is important to develop children both personally and intellectually. She thrives on helping children develop their personalities, social skills and confidence. Hannah likes to make learning real and enjoyable for children and is very much looking forward to doing this at The British school of Shanghai!

    Grainne Mallon

    Gráinne trained to be a Teacher in Saint Nicolas Montessori College in Dublin. Following four years of college she received a B.A Honours degree in Montessori Education for children aged 3-12 years. After college Gráinne went on to open her own Montessori pre-school in Dublin. Her school was called ‘Oideachas le Grá Montessori’, which in English translates to ‘Education with love’. This name directly relates to her teaching style, which is quality education with loving care.

    Jennifer studied at Dublin City University, Ireland gaining a B.Ed. (Hons), before recently completing a Master’s Degree in Children’s Literature. Jennifer has worked as a primary school teacher in Dublin for 7 years carrying out a range of responsibilities, with experience teaching Early Years, KS1 and 2, and as an English language support teacher.
