Sheree Brown
BE.d (Hons), Primary Education, Cert IV in TESOL
Sheree Brown is from Australia and graduated with a Bachelor of Primary Education in Brisbane, in 2005. She immediately fell in love with teaching abroad and moved to Beijing in 2006, as a Year 6 teacher. Since then, Sheree has been back and forth teaching in China, Australia and Thailand from Reception to Year 6, and has some experience in SEN.
During her career, Sheree has worked her way into Early Years and has found how vital 'play' is to all children. Young students are naturally curious, and in a supportive and secure environment, they are able to inquire about the world and create links through their play. It is her passion, as a teacher, to nurture children in a physically and emotionally safe environment, which enables them to independently make links to a future that is still unpredicted.
Sheree is married to Nathaniel (Head of Computer Science) and has two sons, Zander and JJ. They love to travel. Whilst living in Asia, they have explored all of the Asian countries and next, they plan to travel through Europe. Having lived as an expat for over seven years, Sheree is keen to find a 'family' group in Shanghai with similar interests: coffee dates, shopping and family board game nights. Already with some basic spoken Mandarin, Sheree is looking forward to becoming more fluent and finally, learning to read and write Chinese characters too.
