Staff Profile: Lisa Moore

Lisa Moore

Year 5 Class Teacher

Lisa graduated with an LLB (Bachelor of Law) from the University of Sheffield in 1999. After a career in legal publishing, she completed a TEFL certificate and taught English to children and adults both in England and internationally. Keen to learn and understand more about education, Lisa gained her PGCE at Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2010. After completion, she worked as a Year 5 Class Teacher for two years in an inner-city primary school in south-east London.

Lisa volunteered in Kathmandu, Nepal, where she coached the Nepali teachers in English and current UK teaching methods; particularly in phonics and reading with the aim of improving the learning for the children.

Upon her return to the UK, Lisa gained further experience in KS1 in a multi-cultural primary school in north London, before taking up a role of Year 2 Class Teacher in a bilingual Thinking School in Bangkok, Thailand later becoming Year Group Leader. She is excited about her move to BISS Puxi, to work in an innovative, international setting with a diverse range of children.

Lisa is a self-motivated, dedicated, and enthusiastic teacher who is committed to creating a stimulating, child-centred and inclusive learning environment for the children under her care. She thrives on continuously learning from both the professionals and children around her and seeking new challenges. Lisa has volunteered around the world with wild animals in various sanctuaries and in rural schools with children. Additionally, she has worked for Oxfam and Greenpeace. A regular practitioner in Vinyasa yoga, she also enjoys cooking vegetarian food, exploring new places, music, art and rummaging around vintage markets.
