Sangduk Bae

Korean Teacher

Sangduk Bae

BA (Hons)

Sangduk has a Bachelor's Degree in Korean Language & Literature, and a second in Journalism & Mass Communication. He also studied Korean history and has a teaching qualification in the subject. Sangduk has taught Korean Literacy and Essay for over fifteen years in both Korea and China. He joined to BISS in 2010.

Sangduk teaches IGCSE and IB Korean at BISS, and he firmly believes that these courses, which are different from the Korean National curriculum, provide opportunities for our students to study independently and learn how to express their ideas logically. He also supports Korean students in writing their personal statements when applying to Korean universities. His support has contributed lots of Korean students being accepted by top universities in Korea. Sangduk thinks that self-directed learning makes students develop themselves further. Therefore, he always encourages his students to ask themselves questions and encourages them to work hard to find the answers. Through this, he believes the students will make greater progress in their studies.

In his free time, Sangduk enjoys watching films and reading books. Due to his outgoing personality, he also loves playing football, tennis, climbing and fishing. He believes that all of these activities make him much stronger, both mentally and physically.
