We have arrived safe and are currently competing in a team bike/running race. I think Year 8 will sleep well tonight.
After an exhausting trip to Mai Chau we arrived and took part in a paired race that involved team work and sharing responsibility for cycling and running. The teams had to use a map to navigate an 8KM route to and from the home stay. Suffice to say they were exhausted on their return.
After showering and relaxing we then had a delicious dinner followed by traditional entertainment and dancing which the students were excited to take part in.
Today we have packed up and left the home stay and are on our way to Hoa Binh lake where we will take a boat over to the island to take part in Archery, kayaking and other orienteering activities before checking in at Mai Chau Eco Lodge for another fun filled evening.
On the way to the island...
We arrived safely at the Eco lodge last night and had a tasty dinner. After some free time the students were tired so we had an early bed. Today we go for a challenging trek In the hills of Mai Chau this is followed by a well earned lunch at the Eco Lodge. Following this we will visit the local school to donate the masses of clothes collected in the clothes drive. After this the students will finish their evening with an awards ceremony and karaoke. It's looking like it will be a great day..
In the evening, awards were given out by Asia Motions for great performances during the week in the various different activities. The teachers from BIS also picked recipients for the Aide Memoire awards, students that showed: perseverance, care, reflection, inquiry, integrity and respect. This was followed by a great magical performance and loads of Karaoke. A great end to a great week.
Today we head back to Hanoi. We leave Mai Chau at 9am and plan to arrive back at 1.30pm. Please watch the website for updates. Should there be no updates we will arrive back at this time. Please be waiting to pick up your child at Gate B.
