We had some very special visitors to the British International School this week.
Children from our new community partner Nguyen Dinh Chieu School for the blind came to play with our year 2 students in the Early Years Centre.

Our students had prepared earlier in the week by trying a number of special tasks. Using goggles kindly loaned by the secondary science department, we had specially adapted them so that we couldn’t see properly. This helped Year 2 to empathise what it might be like to be partially sighted or blind.

I was really happy to see that some of our students really rose to the challenge to show how caring they can be.
Our visitors had a wonderful time meeting our Year 2 children, making new friends, playing with musical instruments, modelling with clay and building towers using the large lego blocks.

Thank you to all the staff and students that helped to make this a very special visit for the children from Nguyen Dinh Chieu school.
