Mr Anthony Rowlands Weekly Update 8th April

08 April 2016

It was a pleasure to visit the Year 2 exhibition held in their shared area yesterday morning. The work on display was of a very high standard with such a great variety of writing and art. I was particularly impressed with the children's own adaptations of the famous book ‘Where the wild things are’. The poetry that they had written was equally impressive and creative. The art work produced by the students, based on the great Spanish artist Salvador Dali, was a colourful testament to his creativity. The children thoroughly enjoyed showing their parents and other visitors around and enthusiastically spoke about the work they had produced. Well done to our Year 2 students and staff for a great event.

It was good to hear constant updates during the week that our Y5 and Y6 students were enjoying their respective expeditions in Cuc Phuong and Hoi An. These are wonderful experiences for young children which give them an opportunity to gain independence away from their immediate families and bond closer with their peers.

It was quieter in the Secondary school after the excitement of ‘West Side Story’ last week, although the week ended with an exciting House Sports on the final day of the term. Our older Secondary students will now be focusing on their IGCSE and A Level examinations which are on the horizon and will be spending the forthcoming holidays revising carefully for these exams and we wish them luck with their important studies.

It has been a wonderful term at BIS Hanoi and I would like to thank the school's community for their ongoing support.

I do wish you all a pleasant and relaxing holiday.

Mr Anthony Rowlands, Principal
