At British International School Hanoi, the school community is important to us. Today, in assembly, we celebrated our school guards and got to know them a little bit better. The House and Vice Captains wrote some amazing questions to challenge our guards and conducted interviews over the past three weeks. Questions such as, ‘If you could go back in history, which period would you go to and why?’ and ‘which country would you like to travel to and why?’ raised some interesting answers. In fact, when reflecting on their childhood, the guards invited us to meet them one lunch time and play some games they used to play at school. This was great fun!
There are 11 guards at BIS; 5 of them were able to join us in assembly today on special seats on the stage. The House and Vice Captains showed us a video of the interview highlights followed by a presentation which focused on one fun fact for each guard. The guards also demonstrated another game for us with some willing volunteers from the audience.
I am really proud of the House Captains and Vice Captains who have worked incredibly hard over break times to produce today’s assembly. Congratulations on delivering a lively and interesting presentation.
Other special guests took to the stage when the guards left. A sun bear and a moon bear came to help spread the work about the Young Enterprise Fair which is happening next Friday. Year 3 children have been busy preparing goods to sell in the hope of raising funds for the Tam Dao Bear Sanctuary. All children will be able to spend money at the fair over break time and parents from Year 3 are invited to watch a presentation before the fair begins.
Next week, is also an exciting time for Year 6 as they are off to Hoi An for their 4 day residential trip. We wish you all a fantastic trip and look forward to hearing about it on your return.
