Students looked relieved when they walked through the school gates this week. With the pressure of the end of year exams over, they have been able to re-activate the creative side of their brains. The result has been some inspirational ideas during Green Week.
Green Week Assembly
Ms Bradford and Mr Forster led a thought provoking assembly highlighting the power that British International School Hanoi has for generating good deeds. Through the week’s green pledges (short videos made by staff and students), we have discovered lots of simple tips for saving water and reducing harmful waste. Whether it was saying no to a straw or reusing your bubble tea cup, we found that there is always a way to make a positive contribution to the environment.
Year 7 Work Share Event
It was wonderful to see so many parents supporting the Year 7 students on Thursday evening. Parents were shown a range of activities that help children learn at British International School Hanoi. They witnessed a daredevil trampoline act, a thought provoking debate, a monologue, some Shakespearean drama, a band performance and a pyrotechnic science display. The whole of the year group were involved and it was pleasing to hear one set of parents express pride in the progress that their daughter has made in the area of public performance. BIS Hanoi will always provide authentic opportunities for children to learn.
Year 13 Graduation Event
Tomorrow will be a special day for the Year 13 A level students, as they graduate from British International School Hanoi. They have contributed so much to our early history and it will be a pleasure to celebrate with them tomorrow. We have some nice surprises planned for them and it promises to be a lovely afternoon.
