The well-being and success of our students is our top priority
The well-being and success of our students is our top priority New students seem to be coping well with the high standards that we set in the quality of work that they produce both in the classroom and at home.

We have welcomed a large number of new students into the Secondary School, with new students joining in each Key Stage. It has been excellent to see so many resilient characters joining the school who have adapted quickly to the conditions of studying in a new environment. There are understandably some new students who are still finding their feet, but the majority of new students look to have already established strong friendship groups, and made bonds with students that will last long beyond their time here at BIS Hanoi. New students also seem to be coping well with the high standards that we set in the quality of work that they produce both in the classroom and at home.

The tropical cyclone Doksuri tried its best to prevent the New Student Barbeque from taking place, but one week later than planned, new students assembled along with those students that had made them feel most welcome at the school and there was a great atmosphere as students enjoyed each other’s company along with some barbequed food.

There are new student Parents’ Evenings taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday next week in which parents will have an opportunity to find out how their children are settling into school. We strongly encourage parents to attend these meetings, so please arrange appointments through Mrs Wild for years 7,8 and 9 and Mr Westropp for years 10 and 11. Mr Airdrie will be in direct contact with parents of students who are new in year 12.

Mr Airdrie will also be working with the new year 12 prefects who will be asking new students about what they have found most challenging in the first part of their time here at BIS Hanoi as well as what they feel have been the most enjoyable parts of their first month at the school. They will use this information to help our current new students to settle in here but also to help with new students that will join us in future.

The wellbeing and success of our students is our top priority and if you should have any questions for us then please do get in touch.

Mrs Amy Wild, Head of Year 7-9

Mr Edward Westropp, Head of Year 10-11

Mr Robert Airdrie, Head of Sixth Form
