Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a wonderful Tet holiday and are looking forward to the year ahead.

This week has been one of celebration. Last night, we held the Gala Showcase for our Year 11 and Year 13 students who are studying for their IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme qualifications in Music.  The standard of solo and duet performances was very high and held the audience spellbound. I would like to congratulate the nine performers. Although nervous, they rose to the challenge and produced creditworthy performances which have been recorded as part of their overall exams.

In addition to the musical showcase, the Art department have shone this week. The exhibition of KS3 artwork in the library is a creative burst of colour and imagination. Well done to our students who have really worked hard this year.

The spotlight is also on sport as our Under 13 team is currently competing in the FOBISIA tournament in Phuket. We are looking forward to hearing all about the Lionhearts’ achievements next week. In addition, yesterday we hosted the Youth Festival Basketball tournament which gave our Year 5 and 6 BIS teams a chance to shine.

On Sunday, 5 members of the BIS team including Mr Webb, Mrs. Carroll, Mrs. Vaughan, Mr Labelle and I will attend the Regional Nord Anglia Conference in Pattaya. Each school across our region, South East Asia, will offer workshops across various areas of education including Learning Support, EAL and Integration of technologies. The conference ends on Tuesday therefore we will be away from BIS until Wednesday.

I do hope that you will have a wonderful weekend.

Ms Sue Hill, Principal
