Our partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) enables students to develop their skills in solving real-world problems by collaborating with other students to design, develop and test a prototype to solve a problem the students has been given.

Students participated in two challenges:

  1. Super Natural: based on the work of Professor Hosoi, requires students to identify an animal that has some kind of superpower, for example, a chameleon can change colour to camouflage themselves. Students went on to design and create their own superhero and super suit taking inspiration from these animals.
  2. Epic Identity encourages students to design and build wearable technology to improve human performance. They were given Black Widow and Batman to assist, both superheroes without any real ‘powers’.

The students used their knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths to create their projects and then presented their creations to other students. Four groups of students presented their creations in the Friday afternoon assembly. The students had a very good time participating in the challenges and will be looking forward to future challenges.
