This year MIT gave BIS Hanoi three new challenges with a STEAM superhero theme.

Year 9 science students have been completing various projects in some science lessons this year to complete the ‘Super Natural’ STEAM superhero challenge.

This particular project involved investigating starfish anatomy and movements.

They investigated how starfish use tube feet and hydraulic forces to move through the water on the seabed.

After researching how humans have used this nature-inspired hydraulic force in many types of technology and engineering they built their very own moving hydraulic arms in class!

They will continue to investigate the forces involved in this kind of pressure lifting in the next few STEAM MIT lessons.
