Dear Parents,

A week in the life of our school foyer!

What a tremendous celebration of talent we have showcased in our central foyer this week. The week started with an art exhibition of Key Stage 3 work which commenced at the main entrance and wound its way down the secondary corridor. Curators were on hand to guide visitors around the many 2-D and 3-D displays, explaining the media used and the art period studied. The variety of skills and quality of work on display really shows how far our students have developed.

On Thursday, a Secondary Live Lunch provided musical entertainment which permeated our campus. Musicians and singers performed in an informal setting to an appreciative audience. Later that day, the foyer was once again transformed as the scene was set for our ECA Drama Club performance of Alice. What a celebration of talent as the performers led us from the introductory scene in the foyer to the library where we were transported to another world as Alice encountered the Mad Hatter and we all took part in the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. The cast then led the audience to the drama room where we were part of a croquet match and finally we assembled in the Theatre for the Trial of the Mad Hatter. The humorous script and amazing delivery from our talented students provided a wonderful evening’s entertainment. It’s hard to believe that so much has been achieved in the ECA this time.

A final highlight of the week was the Year 6 disco. I would like to thank all the parents who organised the disco; the games, food and decorations were amazing.

Tomorrow, I'm looking forward to the BIS Graduation in honour of our Year 13 students. This is always a very special occasion as we celebrate their time at BIS and wish them all the very best for their next move.

Ms Sue Hill
