“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all” Aristotle.

Here at the British International School, as part of the Nord Anglia Education family of schools, we care deeply about making a difference in people’s lives.

With the disruption of enforced school closures and social distancing restrictions putting a hold on some of our community service projects this year.  We have still made a positive difference to help others and we are proud to announce our social & environmental contributions so far this academic year.

We have been involved in 122 activities, volunteered over 7,000 hours, collected over 1,500 goods to donate to worthy causes and raised over $11,000.00.

Some of the charities and organisations we have supported this year include:

Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation

School on the Boat

SOS Orphanage

Hy Vong School for children with disabilities

Na Chao village and Bao La Primary School

Khiem Tinh School for the deaf

Wilderness Foundation Africa

Tam Dao Bear Sanctuary

We have also been raising awareness on environmental issues, with the help of our wonderful parents and friends of BIS who ran a successful upcycling project with old school uniforms.  Our fruit and vegetables from the BIS Community garden remain extremely popular and the sale of these and our free-range eggs from our very happy hens and quirky but quaint quail are ‘ploughed’ back into our fabulous outdoor learning environment, which has truly become self-sustaining.
