Take initiative of the opportunities that the school gives us, it will make your school life more rounded. And don’t be afraid to fail because high school is the time for you to fail, to experience and to step up to do anything you feel like doing.

Celebrating Class of 2020 at the Graduation Ceremony Last Saturday (May 30), we celebrated the graduation of our Year 13 students and recognised their achievements throughout their journey at BIS Hanoi.

Last Saturday (May 30), we celebrated the graduation of our Year 13 students and recognised their achievements throughout their journey at BIS Hanoi.

It was truly a memorable and special event, where everyone gathered to celebrate one of the most important milestones for students in their educational career. This year's Graduation Ceremony is extra special as it marks a closing chapter at BIS for all of our graduates, with most of them have been a part of the school from the very start when the school opened its doors for the first time.

Opening the Ceremony, Ms Sue Hill shared her admiration for the resilience and adaptability the graduates showed at every step of their journey in this strange, challenging year. She went on advising Class of 2020 to “be flexible and confident with the knowledge you have so you can always ready to deal with challenges in a rapidly changing world full of uncertainties”.

At the ceremony, we had the honour to welcome Mr Steve Price-Thomas OBE, Global Director of Advocacy, Campaigns and Public Engagement at Oxfam International. He delivered an inspiring speech about how the young generation has grown to overcome, to adapt the uncertainty and fast pace of change during this time as well as in the future. He left the graduates with three pieces of advice: "Don’t be afraid of tough time – Do what you think it’s right, grow yourself in values that last – and finally, Build a community wherever you are."

The emotional built up with the student speech by Tran Hoang Tue Linh on behalf of the graduating class of 2020. She reflected a memorable journey with all her friends and teachers after eight years at BIS, which definitely brought many of us at the ceremony to tears.

Throughout this academic year, Trung Tien and Valerie have done an amazing job as the inaugural Head Boy & Head Girl of BIS Hanoi and supported our student community. They also took this chance to share their last advice to the younger generation at BIS.
