Janet Oosthuysen

Learning Support Teacher

•    PGCE Secondary English, Leeds University UK
•    Master of Research, Education, Leeds Beckett University, UK

Ms. Janet Oosthuysen was born in South Africa and educated in the UK. She has recently completed a Masters in Research, examining diversity and inclusion in education. Janet has a long career in education, beginning as an English teacher, then moving into working with parents before returning to the classroom as a special needs teacher. She has also led university teacher training courses in the UK.  

As a learning support teacher, Janet sees her role as empowering individual students with the skills needed to become effective independent learners, able to fulfil their potential in school. 

Janet has loved living in Vietnam and travelling throughout the country. She moved here with her husband in 2017, and as a trained cook has enjoyed learning about - and eating - Vietnamese food. She also enjoys cinema, reading and being with her famil
