As part of the BVIS Community Learning teacher training, students from Chuyen Biet Rang Dong (CBRD) came to our school to enjoy a series of “Rhythm and Books” themed activities in the library.
CBRD is a local school for children with a variety of special needs, including Downs Syndrome, deafness and autism.
On arrival, the students participated in a hugely enjoyable drama detective game - which really set the tone for the rest of the morning! Following on from this, the students split into two groups to rotate around the two main activities. While one group was having great fun learning percussion techniques, the other delighted in seeing BVIS staff read and perform the short children’s story,
Hooray for a Hat,
before creating and colouring puppets of characters from the story to take home. Both activities were tremendous fun and both students and staff alike had a great time.
The warm atmosphere and sense of fun was a joy to behold for the entire morning -and BVIS were proud to gift our new friends from CBRD with a selection of books from our library to take away.
We look forward to linking up with Chuyen Biet Rang Dong again in the future - and wish to thank them for a truly memorable and rewarding morning!
