From ensuring that Students have the counselling support that they need to providing suggestions on how to explain recent events to kids, our on-staff Counsellors have been amazingly supportive to our entire School community.
First, the Counselling department has been vital in supporting our Virtual School Experience. ICS Counsellors have held virtual assemblies and have continuously provided one-to-one support to both Primary and Secondary Students who have found confinement particularly challenging.
Second, they have provided different materials and food for thought to inspire and support all of us. Our Counsellors have been encouraging us every step of the way with different resources, including:
In Primary School, one of the questions our Counselling department posed to Students was “What is an activity that makes you feel good?” This question encouraged Students to foster gratitude and reflect on what is important in their day-to-day. Here are a few of their answers:
Playing music, spending time with siblings, having pillow fights and snuggling with pets were a few of the top activities that make our Students smile.
