In today’s assembly we talked about performing under pressure. The children were asked to reflect on our core values and think about how they help us to build a strong foundation for success. Perseverance is always required. We ask the students to embrace challenge every day. They must not give up when school work is difficult. Seeking out new challenges (enquiry) is a great way to build a confident mindset for the future. Presenting oneself as a leader either on the sports field or the musical stage is a great way of testing our integrity. We must be ready to give our best when our best is required. By challenging ourselves we will make mistakes and from reflection on these mistakes, we learn more effectively.
After considering these values and their importance to us as learners we showed our respect for students from our community who had performed under pressure in the past. These students have already drawn on our core values to provide them with the strength of character to succeed in a challenging environment. Some of these students are pictured.
