Dear Parents,

What an amazing evening on Wednesday, celebrating BIS musical talent in our biggest ever annual Summer Concert! Students of all abilities and at different stages of their musical journeys proudly and confidently took to the auditorium stage, in front of a packed audience. It was a treat to be entertained by a mixture of solo performers, duets, class bands, the Primary Choir, dance troupes and musical ensembles. Congratulations to the Performing Arts Team for another super year, leading our Juilliard Music and Dance programme. A special thank you to our Head of Performing Arts, Laura Rea who will be leaving BIS at the end of 4 years to continue her career in the UK. Mrs. Rea really has taken our Performing Arts Department to new heights with her passion, skills and enthusiasm - we will certainly miss her next year!

Congratulating students has been a theme this week! Last Saturday, we held the Graduation for our Year 13 at the Almaz Convention Centre. It was wonderful to see our students, parents and teachers gather together one last time for a formal celebration of their many achievements at BIS. I wish them all the very best as they move to destinations around the world and look forward to hearing about their adventures and accomplishments; they truly are a credit to our school.

Today was a graduation of a different kind as Year 6 had a special gathering to celebrate the end of the Primary phase. In a lively assembly for parents and children, they sang, danced and reflected on years at BIS. We are all proud of you Year 6 and are sure you will rise to the challenge of Secondary next year.

This week has also seen our STEAM initiative being embraced in our EYC. What fantastic creativity was shown by our 2 to 6 year olds as they developed their own superheroes with special powers. Great team work, EYFS and Year 1!

Lastly, I would like to mention our parents who really surprised us this week by providing the most delicious selection of food for our teachers’ staff room. To see parents and teachers socialising over an international buffet mid-week was a delight to see. Thank you so much for your very kind gesture.

Next Wednesday, we are really looking forward to the Year 4 Production of ‘Wind in the Willows’. This promises to be an entertaining and enjoyable event which is suitable for all ages so I hope to see many of you there.
