Wellbeing and Pastoral Care
Our Wellbeing programme is the planned provision for our students’ personal and social development. It helps our students develop a secure sense of identity, build resilience, and learn how to manage their physical and mental health during their school years and beyond.
It includes three elements:
• Acquisition of accessible, relevant and age-appropriate information.
• Clarification and development of attitudes and values that support self-esteem and are positive to health and wellbeing.
• Development of personal and social skills to enable emotional development and interaction with others, as well as making positive health choices and actively participating in society.
Young people need support to grow emotionally and socially so that they can use their thoughts and feelings to guide their behaviour positively and develop personal awareness, emotional resilience and social skills. This will enable them to enjoy and manage their lives now and, in the future, and to be effective learners and active citizens.
