On Thursday 4 April 2019, the Northbridge International School Cambodia PYP Exhibition journey reached its end in a highly engaging and stimulating event that all students have had a chance to enjoy.
The Exhibition is a significant learning journey in the life of a PYP student and an important school and community event as it is the culmination of a student’s PYP experience. It is an 8-week unit which allows students the opportunity to show the attributes of the IB learner profile that they have been developing throughout their years in the PYP as well as use the skills they have developed to lead their own inquiry.
In Grade 5, students chose the passions and interests they wanted to inquire into. This year the exhibition unit was under the transdisciplinary theme Sharing the Planet. We were very excited to see where students took their personal inquiries and how they chose to express themselves at the end of the unit during the staging of the exhibition.
Students needed to create their own lines of inquiry along which they focused their research, exploration and creativity. Students chose to work alone or with others and met with several members of the school community as well as their mentors throughout the duration of the unit.
Our Grade 5 students showed incredible commitment, self-management and focus, and through this process, we trust that they have grown as people and as learners. We believe that the lessons they learned during the exhibition process will serve them well as they move on to the MYP and the next chapter of their lives.

When people think about leadership, what often comes to mind are the concepts of power, decision making, delegating and innovation. Seldom does one think about care, empathy, kindness, and generosity – however these traits that highlight the emotional skills for successful and effective leadership, including by students at Northbridge International School Cambodia, are just as important.
What are the Primary Arts all about? Is it just a load of fun and messing around? It is fun, which is why we love it but there is so much more to the programme than some people might think.
Take a visit to our early learning spaces at Northbridge International School Cambodia, both inside and out, and you will observe a wealth of play activities happening. Students are interacting in playing on their own (solo play), playing with the same thing or in the same space (mirrored play) or sharing together (collaborative play).
