School Homework

At NAS Jakarta, our philosophy emphases student-directed learning where young learners take responsibility for their own education through guided exploration and natural inquisitiveness. This holistic approach to teaching helps build up independent learners that can identify problems and find a creative solution to it.

  • Homework

In the Early Years, learning through play is a fundamental part of development. Rather than focussing on rote learning, outside-class learning emphasises parents playing with their children, talking and interacting as children explore the world around them. Nurturing and encouraging passions in children from a young age is fundamental to cultivating a lifelong thirst for learning.

As children move into Primary School limited homework is required but the focus remains on getting students to explore and direct their own learning. Teachers encourage students to work on personalized projects that foster individual passions. Through this system, teachers can deliver inspiring lessons instead of spending hours setting and marking homework and children are able to best direct their passions in meaningful ways.
