At NAS Jakarta we pride ourselves on providing a nurturing and welcoming environment for children that have specific learning requirements. Our educational framework has yielded excellent results and provides an opportunity for all children in the school to learn important lessons of inclusiveness and compassion.
We ensure that every child that needs support is provided with the tools they need to succeed. In collaboration with parents, teachers, heads of department, medical professionals and assistants, we work together to develop customized learning plans, creating a framework for your child’s education.
Children are integrated into mainstream classes as much as possible and where necessary additional learning support systems, along with EAL assistance, is provided. We have a range of qualified staff, including teachers with Special Education Needs qualifications to work closely with your child.
This integrated approach to teaching in the supported education program provides opportunities for each child to interact with peers and adults of varying interests, backgrounds, abilities and ages. It fits in with the broader goals of developing NAS Jakarta students’ capacities, emphasizing the importance of life skills like teamwork, conflict resolution and the importance of tolerance and empathy.
NAS Jakarta is able to utilize existing links with a broad range of resources including specialized personalized assistants and a Dutch, dual lingual educational psychologist.
Whilst our program aims to be as inclusive as possible, there are some limits to the support that the school can offer. If you would like to discuss your child’s particular needs or want to know more about our supportive education programme and how your child will fit in we warmly encourage you to get in touch and see how NAS Jakarta can work for you.
