World Children's Day 2022

Léman STEAM Day - Leman-STEAM-Day
icon quote
We are very proud that our students maintained the 100 per cent pass rate since we had our first graduate cohort back in 2016. Our average IBDP score has always been at least 10% higher than the global average. For the past three years, our average score has increased from 37.07 to 38.2. I am delighted with our students who have put extraordinary efforts into their work and thankful to our parents and colleagues who have supported our students throughout this process.
Tom Ferguson
Principal of Léman

World Children's Day is UNICEF's global day of action for children, by children, marking the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. For World Children's Day 2022, UNICEF is calling on partners and supporters to share a positive message of equality and inclusion for every child.

Wear Blue

As in previous years, we celebrated the day by wearing the colour blue (the colour of UNICEF) in support of children's rights, and provide platforms to raise the voices of children and young people on the issues they care about.

Students take over plan

During the day our Primary students had the opportunity to take over teachers' roles. There were opportunities to teach our Year 6 students, as well as shadow our office staff in Marketing and Facility. There were even opportunities to be the Head of Primary and Deputy Head of Primary for part of the day! This was a great opportunity for our students to learn how important their voice is.

Global Campus

From the 14th of November, our teachers unlocked a  lesson each day for five days on our Nord Anglia online platform - Global campus. These lessons were created and curated by Nord Anglia students, for Nord Anglia students all around the world.  The lessons contained videos, activities, and forums for teachers to discuss with students at other Nord Anglia schools around the world.

Sponsored cross country run

Year 9 students designed a t-shirt for the day and launched a sponsored cross country run to raise money for children at the Wawu school with years 1-6.

Display in Primary School

The children in Primary school created a display for World Children's Day. "The future is in our hands" is the title of this display. This is something the children have been thinking about as they took over various staff member's jobs across school. The symbolic hand, along with handwritten comments, reflect what our students here at Léman feel passionate about, and how they want the future to look.

World Children's day is an important annual day which all Nord Anglia school celebrate each year, in collaboration with UNICEF. This year was no exception. It was a day of enrichment, during which our students' helped others and considered the future of their world.
