MET students achieve more than they may have thought possible. We believe there is no limit to what students can achieve socially, personally and academically. This year, our students’ academic results reflect our shared commitment to excellence.

The IB results have been published worldwide and we are delighted to share with you the 6th MET graduating class’ amazing International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) results.

For the 2020-2021 academic school year, the MET Class of 2021 achieved an impressive pass rate of 96%, significantly higher than the international average pass rate of 89%. Our class average score was 35 points, 2 points higher than the IB global average of 33 points widening the gap between the school and other IB schools around the world.

Additionally, a very high proportion of our Senior class (79%) studied for and achieved the IBDP.  We are very proud to report that 13 students, an incredible 25%, earned 40 points or higher and our highest score, obtained by 2 students, was a very impressive 43 points. 40 points is the level of attainment required to gain admission to the world’s elite universities, such as Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, and Stanford.

Once again, we congratulate our Class of 2021 for this fantastic achievement in what was a demanding last 15 months for our Seniors. This is our largest graduating class and the most successful to date. Our students put in the hard work over the years, endured a tough final 15 months due to the global pandemic but we know they have very bright futures ahead of them and can’t wait to see what they do in the future. With offers to study at top universities in Canada, the UK, the US, Japan, Mexico, The Netherlands, and Spain, as well as here in Panama, we wish them every success!

It is important to highlight that for the 6th consecutive year, all MET students passed the three core subjects (Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge, and CAS - Creativity-Activity-Service). This is a significant accomplishment for schools to have six straight years with a 100% pass rate in the core areas, and is a testament to the quality and dedication of the MET students and teachers.

Finally, an incredible 37 Class of 2021 MET students received a bilingual diploma – that's 70% of the cohort – our highest number ever in one year!

As a family of schools, the Nord Anglia group global point average is now 36.2 average score out of 45, with an outstanding 98% pass rate, both well above the global average. This marks the eight consecutive year that Nord Anglia schools have surpassed global average scores and this year was the strongest set of IB results in Nord Anglia’s history for both overall IB average score and pass rate.

A huge congratulations to all our graduates and IBDP achievers for a job excellently done against all odds!
