NAIS Dublin awarded Gold!
Aibhlin O’Leary, Child’s Rights Schools Coordinator from UNICEF, who awarded us The Gold Award, which we have been working on over the past few years.
Here at NAIS Dublin, we take pride in working with students to help them become aware of their rights and how to use their voice and choice to empower themselves and others.

On November 17, 2023 we had a visit from Aibhlin O’Leary, our Child’s Rights Schools Coordinator from UNICEF, who awarded us The Gold Award, which we have been working on over the past few years. She was blown away by our school and how the students are so integral to the decisions that are made on a day-to-day basis.

"The UNICEF team had a wonderful day meeting the staff and students at Nord Anglia International School Dublin. Student voice and leadership is clearly central to the way of life at NAIS Dublin, and it was inspiring to hear students speak passionately about their rights. Guided around the school by members of the Student Council and Student Voice committees we could see and feel how child rights have been embedded across the school. As we spoke with a wide range of staff members, visited classes, explored school facilities, and heard about student experiences first-hand it was clear that the whole school community had embodied the Child Rights Schools approach of learning about rights, through rights and for rights. We were delighted to award NAIS Dublin with the Gold Child Rights Schools Award in recognition of their efforts to promote and realise child rights and we look forward to continuing this work together in the years to come. " - Aibhlin O'Leary, UNICEF Ireland.

Monday 20 November 2023, we celebrated World Children’s Day where we saw students taking part in a variety of activities to promote diversity and inclusion, which was the focus for this year. More information about how World Children’s Day was celebrated around the world can be found here.

As part of the Children’s Rights Committee, we have a commitment to overseeing and supporting students in their understanding of taking action. We would like to thank Olha Finn, who oversees this committee, for her dedication and time spent coordinating and being the spokesperson for our school.

Here at NAIS Dublin, we take pride in working with students to help them become aware of their rights and how to use their voice and choice to empower themselves and others.
