Alongside our online application form, we also ask for your child’s previous school reports, a reference from your child’s current school, and medical and passport documentation.

THE APPLICATION FEE
Applications to our Lam Tin Primary Campus and Kwun Tong Secondary Campus require a non-refundable, non-transferable application fee of HK$3,000. There isn’t an application fee for our Sai Kung Early Years Campus.

To make your payment of the application fee:

  • You may make it payable to: Nord Anglia International School HK Ltd
  • You may pay by bank transfer. Please email proof of your payment to our Admissions Team.
  • We’re unable to accept cash.

Please consider that we receive many more applications than we have places for. Because our application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, we encourage you to contact us to check the availability of places in your child's year group before making your child’s application.

Once we receive your online application form and supporting documents, our admissions manager will email you to confirm receipt of your application fee and will advise you on the next steps – depending on the year you’re applying to and your requested start date.

Please note that unfortunately, we cannot offer an assessment to every child. If your child is invited for an assessment at our school, or we request a remote assessment for a child who is currently overseas, this is included as part of the HK$3,000 application fee for our Lam Tin Primary Campus or Kwun Tong Secondary Campus.

PRIORITY ALLOCATIONS
Like other international schools in Hong Kong, we offer priority assessments and places following certain criteria.
Image_NAISHK_HongKong_SaiKung_2023

We offer priority assessments and places according to the following criteria:

  • A child allocated by a Corporate Debenture holder.
  • A child allocated by an Individual Debenture holder.
  • A sibling of a student who is currently attending a Nord Anglia international school.
  • Students who have attended another Nord Anglia international school for three months or more.
  • Students with English as their first language, who are unable to access the local curriculum.

However, please note that each student must still meet our other admission requirements. The final decision for all students is at the discretion of our principal.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT NEEDS
We ask parents to share any additional support their child may need during their learning experiences at school.
Image_NAISHK_HongKong_SaiKung_2023
At Nord Anglia International School Hong Kong, we embrace the value all children bring to our school. Our teachers are experts at working with children as individuals and adapting to a range of their needs. We appreciate that each child may need support at times, whether with a specific learning difficulty, such as dyslexia, or with an emotional need – for example, because of bereavement.

During the application stage, it's essential that parents are as open as possible about any additional support their child may need. Expert reports or talking with your child’s previous teachers are both useful ways for us to assess how well we can support your child at NAIS Hong Kong. In some instances, we may suggest additional support in the classroom. This may incur extra charges, which we’ll discuss with you before offering a place.

However, it may be that, after discussions with you, we feel that we cannot support your child's particular learning needs. In this case, we may explain, with regret, that we can't offer a place.

ASSESSMENTS

Our assessments for Primary and Secondary School applicants are not formal interviews but have been designed to be as relaxed as possible within small groups of 8 to 10 students. Our assessments help us get to know the students better, including how they learn, and our supportive team is on hand to encourage the students throughout the process.

YEARS 1 AND 2
Our assessment is 45 minutes long within the classroom for this age group. The children will do several learning activities, under the guidance of our teaching staff.

For August entry for Year 1s, we aim to meet as many of your children as possible during the assessment period. We organise assessments for siblings and debenture holders in late November, followed by assessments for all other Year 1 children in mid-January.

While we guarantee an assessment for siblings and debenture holders, we are unable to offer assessments for all other children, due to the large volume of applications we receive.

APPLICATION REVIEWS

Your child’s application will be reviewed by a member of our senior leadership team, headed by our principal. Our final decision will be based upon your child's online application with supporting documents, assessment, and their level of priority on our waitlists.

We’ll contact all parents by email within two weeks of the assessment. While we wish we could offer all children places, this is unfortunately not possible with our constraints on class sizes. If we believe it's appropriate, we may give you an offer to remain on our waitlist and will contact you should a place become available.
