NAISHK Class of 2021 celebrate excellent IBDP results Following two years of great dedication and hard work by our IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) students, we are delighted to announce an excellent first set of Diploma results.

Following two years of great dedication and hard work by our IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) students, we are delighted to announce an excellent first set of Diploma results.

Notwithstanding numerous interruptions to their learning, since August 2019, our first IBDP cohort were determined to pursue the ‘exam route’ in May. Together, they achieved an impressive average Diploma score of 36.3, which is over three points above the world average. Our 100% Diploma pass rate also compares very favourably to the global picture (88.96%). 30% of our students scored 40 points or more out of a possible 45, which is also a fantastic achievement.

The international and language diversity of our student body is highlighted in the 40% of our Year 13 cohort who achieved a Bilingual Diploma – this is a notable achievement as these students completed the full programme in a language that is not their mother tongue.

Three members of our graduating Class of 2021, Marcus, Alex and Toby, were founding members of Secondary. During their seven-year journey with us, they have paved the way for future Key Stage 3, IGCSE and IBDP groups. Ambitious, open-minded and considerate, these students truly embody the spirit of NAIS; moreover, their success is a testament to the high quality of teaching, learning, support and guidance in Secondary. We are delighted that one of these pioneering young people, Toby, achieved our highest Diploma score of 43 points

The IB Diploma Programme remains by far the best post-16 programme of study, providing unrivalled preparation for higher education. Our Class of 2021 are set fair for university and have offers from institutions including Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Durham University, University of Bath, University of British Columbia, Marist College and Monash University. Through our Alumni Network, we look forward to connecting with our Year 13 leavers and celebrating further success in the years to come.

As a community, we would like to thank the IB Diploma Co-ordinator, Ms Simpson, our DP teaching staff and pastoral team, including our dedicated form tutors, who have guided our Diploma students with great care throughout the last two years.

Well done and congratulations to the Class of 2021!

Nick Rickford

Head of Secondary
