COMPETITIVE SPORTS

Any student with an interest in competitive sport will enjoy being part of the NAIS Knights. Our swimming facilities, use of outdoor training areas and highly qualified coaching staff allow pupils the opportunity to develop, train, compete and succeed at a wide range of team and individual sports. Practices take place at lunchtime, after school and at weekends, building on the work covered in PE curriculum lessons.

We are part of a range of competitive sport networks and this gives our young athletes many opportunities to play for competition and fun. Aside from local competitions, our Knights have attended events in China, Asia and other destinations worldwide.

RECREATIONAL SPORTS

Students can play sport more or less every day if they wish, and for the enthusiast there are many outstanding opportunities to play, have fun and keep fit.

All pupils from Year 1 through to Secondary have three classes of Physical Education (PE) per week. This includes one lesson of swimming.

Lessons involve a range of activities, from team sports such as football and volleyball to individual sports like tennis, badminton and table tennis, as well as those focused on fitness and athletics like gymnastics and dance.

Running in tandem with our curriculum is our after-school and lunchtime Extracurricular Activities (ECA) programme. This offers students a chance to try new activities in a friendly atmosphere. We offer a range of sports, from hockey to T-ball. A great number of pupils join in with an ECA every week, many of whom use their training in these ECAs as a stepping stone into the competitive programme available at our school. There are inter-house competitions too, which are fun for a wide range of young sportsmen and sportswomen.
