NAIS Pudong Scholarships
On December 5th, our Y8 students embarked on a field trip to the Lenovo Shanghai Future Center. Guided by knowledgeable staff, they explored cutting-edge advancements in technology in a hands-on and engaging way. The students were fascinated by the impact of the latest technology on society and life, with experiences including trying out autonomous vehicles, virtual frog dissection, VR glasses, and robot remote control. This momentous trip will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on their educational journey, emphasising that learning extends beyond the classroom walls.
A group of girls visited FedEx in Shanghai, where they where shown the incredible mail sorting system. The scale of the apparatus and its complexity left them amazed. Additionally, they explored aircraft models and had the opportunity to experience being a pilot through flight simulation.
Encouraging active participation in extra-curricular activities, we provide support to ensure our students thrive beyond the classroom. Currently, our Year 10, 11, and 12 students are engaged in the Global Campus Debate Competitions. Two debate teams, each comprising four members, represent NAIS Pudong in an inter-school debate league. Using the esteemed British Parliamentary format, our students secured a victory against the British International School Guangzhou in the first round on November 27th. Subsequent rounds are scheduled between January and February, offering our students a unique opportunity to develop persuasive communication, critical thinking, teamwork, and the art of crafting compelling arguments. This challenging arena not only marks a competition but also an opportunity for our students to enhance their debating abilities, setting the stage for a brighter future where eloquence and confidence play integral roles in personal and academic growth. The students eagerly embrace this journey and look forward to honing their skills further.
Nord Anglia International School Shanghai, Pudong has proudly been part of the Shanghai education picture for almost 25 years and stands as China’s longest-running British international school.
With results season just around the corner - at least for our Year 13s who will get their IB grades on 6th July - the Nord Anglia INSIGHTS team have created a powerful piece which I’d encourage every parent, regardless of the age their child, to read.
We are thrilled to announce that our school, as the first Nord Anglia School in China, has been honoured with the prestigious Silver Accreditation for Social Impact! This achievement stands as a testament to the unwavering dedication of our Social Impact Committee and the remarkable efforts of our entire school community. As we reflect on this remarkable journey, we are filled with gratitude and excitement for the transformative impact we continue to make.
