Matthew is a committed and enthusiastic teacher who has been dedicated to the teaching and learning of students for over ten years. As the Assistant Head of the Primary he brings a range of skills to ensure all students are at the centre of what NAIS Pudong does. As a classroom practitioner, creating a positive envirnoment where students are challenged and supported to achieve at their highest level is the standard he strives to achieve.
Matthew graduated from Otago Univeristy in New Zealand with a Bachelor of Education (Hons) in 2009. Following that, he taught in a small beach town where he began his teaching career, developing a teaching philosophy that still guides his practice today. He has taught at high performing schools in New Zealand, London and Beijing before coming to Shanghai.
Matthew is an avid runner and triathlete who has competed in numerous endurance events, spurred on by the training, challenge and physical demands.
