Important parking & access information for NAS Dubai

Dear Parents

There have been some changes in the surrounding areas due to ongoing works by the municipality and housing developers.

We have also added a second drop off area for secondary “fast movers” ONLY.

This letter and diagram will explain the changes made.

It is vital for the continued smooth flow of traffic that the instructions herein are adhered to and the instructions of our security team are followed.

Please drive carefully and slowly around the school or you will be asked to leave (and given a full refund of fees).

Our parking/drop off system worked very well in last year and we have added the additional space with the aim that this will continue to be the case.

Dear Parents,

Our parking/drop off system worked very well in last year and we have added the additional space with the aim that this will continue to be the case.

Main points;

  1. The roads around the school operate on a one way system in during drop off and pickup.
  2. The “dirt road” that previously allowed access from Umm Suqeim road is now completely blocked (not by us) and it seems access from that direction will be severely limited for the foreseeable future. If you have a 4X4 and want to take a look, we won’t stop you but we wouldn’t advise it.
  3. The drop off zone at the front of school (the main drop off zone from last year) remains the same. It is strictly for drop off and not for parking as this disrupts the entire traffic flow. Security (or Mr Embley) will ask you to move if you are there for more than a couple of minutes. All students (including secondary) can be dropped off here.
  4. The two main car parks (1 & 2) remain as before. Please park sensibly (the security teams will guide you) and do no block others in. Please drive with great care in the car parks as young children can escape their parents from time to time.
  5. The NEW drop off zone (car park 3) behind school is for secondary students (and their fast moving siblings) ONLY. We have done this as the space is restricted and secondary students can have their bags on their laps ready to move. We stress this does not mean cars should be driving quickly in this area. It is simply that secondary students can be “thrown and go” as opposed to younger students who might still need help with bags or getting out the car. This gives another option for the parents of older students and should help with traffic flow.
  6. Do NOT attempt to turn across the traffic flow to reach car park 2 or 3. Please turn around at the roundabout.
  7. At pickup time the secondary drop off zone will become car park 3 for the pickup of secondary students ONLY (primary students, unless siblings accompanied by their older brother/sister) will not be allowed out through this gate.
  8. We are going to make improvements to the parking areas when the municipality has finished their works in the area.
  9. The first week will (as per last year) no doubt be slower than normal. Please allow a little extra time until people get the hang of things. Put the radio on.

Best regards

Michael Embley

Principal
